Information We Collect
Tressly collects or stores only the information needed to provide the features you choose to use.
Account Information
If you create an account using Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, we may collect:
- Name
- Email address
- User identifier provided by the authentication provider
This information is used to create and manage your account.
Hair Care Journal Data
Tressly allows you to record and store:
- Wash days
- Products used
- Product categories
- Ratings
- Notes
- Ingredient information
- Calendar history
This information is stored so you can review your personal hair care history and receive personal insights based on your own records.
Ingredient Scanner Data
Tressly includes an ingredient scanner feature.
When you scan a product ingredient label:
- You may use your camera or choose an existing photo from your photo library.
- Text recognition is performed on your device.
- Images are used temporarily for text recognition and are not uploaded to our servers for scanning.
- Product photos are not permanently stored by Tressly.
- Only the extracted ingredient text that you choose to save may become part of your product records.
Using Tressly Without an Account
You may use Tressly without creating an account.
When you use Tressly without signing in, your wash days, products, ingredient records, ratings, and notes are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.
If you later choose to sign in, Tressly may sync your saved records to your account so your data can be backed up and restored across devices.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Save your hair care journal
- Store your products and ingredient records
- Synchronize data across devices when you sign in
- Restore your data when you sign in again
- Generate personal insights based on your own records
- Improve app reliability and functionality
- Respond to support requests
Data Storage and Security
Tressly may store information locally on your device.
When you sign in, Tressly uses secure cloud services, including Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore, to store account and journal information.
We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse.
No system can guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not share your personal information with advertisers or advertising networks.
We may share information with trusted service providers only when necessary to operate Tressly, including:
- Authentication providers, including Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google
- Cloud infrastructure providers, including Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore
These providers may process information only to provide services on our behalf.
Signing Out
When you sign out of Tressly, synced data may be removed from the device to protect your privacy on shared or borrowed devices.
Your cloud backup remains associated with your account and may be restored when you sign in again, unless you delete your account.
Account Deletion
You may delete your account from within the app.
Deleting your account will remove your account information and associated cloud data, subject to any legal or technical retention requirements.
Tracking
Tressly does not use your information for cross-app tracking or advertising.
Tressly does not sell your personal information and does not share your information with advertising networks.
Children’s Privacy
Tressly is not intended for children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
